ISTANBUL – a airliner that is turkish off a runway, crashed into a ditch and broke apart while landing in bad climate in Istanbul Wednesday, killing three individuals and hurting dozens more. Passengers had to scramble through the split fuselage to escape.

The aircraft, operated by low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines, had been arriving at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen airport through the western Turkish town of Izmir with 183 people and team on board when it had what the Transportation Ministry described as a “rough landing.”

Istanbul Gov. Ali Yerlikaya said the air plane neglected to “hold onto the runway“ and skidded some 50-60 yards before it dropped into the ditch from the height of about 98 feet.

“We are deeply saddened … (But) we have been happy that people escaped a greater accident,” Yerlikaya stated, adding that the plane might have burst into flames.

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca reported early Thursday that three people had died and 179 necessary care at multiple hospitals.

Crisis workers, assisted by an excavator, recovered one human anatomy from underneath the wreckage prior to the rescue objective finished.
